The Centre of Molecular and Environmental Biology, (CBMA in a PT acronym) is a Research and Development (R&D) Unit created in 2008, funded by the Portuguese Science & Technology Foundation and hosted at the School of Sciences of the University of Minho. CBMA is a centre of excellence since 2013 (awarded by FCT) and is one of the founders of the Institute of Science and Innovation for Bio-Sustainability (IB-S).
By addressing the complexity of biological systems at distinct levels of organization, from molecules to the biosphere, and benefiting from the expertise of a cross-disciplinary team, the CBMA activities enable an Integrative Biology approach to address issues of biosustainability.
